Suspect drove away in his pickup truck after surveying the damage to a door, in Crime Stoppers of York Region's crime of the week

A driver is wanted for mischief to property after backing his truck, which was filled with long metal items, into the door of a Newmarket business, smashing the glass.

On March 16, a truck was travelling westbound on Davis Drive with several long, metal items protruding from the tailgate. At about 8:50 p.m. the truck pulled into the parking lot at 253 Davis, which is west of Lorne Avenue.

The driver attempted to back into a parking spot, but in doing so the metal items hit the door of the business, smashing the glass. The driver got out, looked at the damage, got back into the truck and drove away. The damage is estimated to be $2,500, according to Crime Stoppers of York Region's crime of the week.

Surveillance footage captured both the suspect and the vehicle. The driver is described as a white, male aged 45 to 50. He is medium build and has a balding/receding hair line. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark jacket with reflective strips, dark pants, and dark shoes.

The suspect vehicle is described as dark pickup truck with a sunroof and tinted windows.
