UPDATE: Driver seriously injured following 2-vehicle collision at Woodbine, St. John's

A driver has been seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision at Woodbine Avenue and St. John's Sideroad this morning.

A 2014 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck and 2009 Toyota Rav4 SUV collided at about 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8 in Whitchurch-Stouffville, according to York Regional Police.

The driver of the Rav4 was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver of the Tundra was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

St. John's was closed from Leslie Street to Warden Avenue, and Woodbine was closed from Mulock Drive to Aurora Road, for several hours following the collision. 

Major collision investigating officers are asking the witnesses who stopped to provide assistance, but left before speaking with police, to contact them.

Officers are also appealing to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.
