Canada-wide warrant issued for Vaughan nightclub murder suspect

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect wanted for first degree murder and attempted murder following a double homicide in the City of Vaughan.

On Saturday, July 23, 2022 at approximately 3:30 a.m., York Regional Police responded to the ATL Lounge located at 2220 Highway 7 West in the City of Vaughan for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located three victims with gunshot wounds.

Two of the victims succumbed to their injuries. They were identified as Tosin Amos-Arowoshegbe, 25; and Chibueze Momah, 22. The third victim, a 20-year-old female, was transported to hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Investigators learned the two deceased victims were employed as security guards for ATL Lounge and the female victim was a patron inside. An altercation took place in the lounge that led to the shooting. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arriving.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect who is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach him, instead call police immediately. The suspect is encouraged to seek legal counsel and turn himself in. Investigators are reminding the public that anyone providing assistance to the suspect may be subject to criminal charges.

    •    Believed to be originally from the Bahamas

    •    Wearing a white and a black shirt

Charges:
    •    First degree murder x2
    •    Attempted murder

Investigators continue to seek any cellphone video or photographs from inside or outside the establishment or video surveillance or dashcam footage from the area or on the roadways. Evidence can be uploaded directly to investigators at this link.
