Investigators with the York Regional Police #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are appealing for witnesses after graffiti was located in the Town of Georgina.

Shortly after 8 a.m., on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, police were called to Constable Garrett Styles Park, in the area of Laurendale Avenue and Terrell Avenue, for a report of anti-Black and offensive graffiti. When officers arrived, they found areas of the park and equipment vandalized.

Investigators are asking any witnesses, anyone with information or anyone with video surveillance footage in that area, to please come forward.

York Regional Police does not tolerate vandalism or hate crime in any form. Those who victimize others based on race, national or ethnic origin, language, colour, religion, age, gender, gender identity, gender expression sexual orientation, or mental or physical disability will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
