75-year-old woman dies following 2-vehicle collision in Markham

A 75-year-old woman who was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a crash in Markham Saturday afternoon has died of her injuries, police say.

Investigators with the York Regional Police major collision investigation unit are seeking witnesses following the crash on Jan. 14 at around 2:25 p.m. near Bur Oak Avenue and McCowan Road.

The 45-year-old male driver and a 75-year-old female passenger of a grey Hyundai Elantra were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The passenger succumbed to her injuries in hospital, police said in a news release.

The 59-year-old female driver of a blue Subaru SUV was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
