The Ontario Provincial Police reports 42 impaired driving/dangerous driving charges and 43 street racing charges were laid in the Greater Toronto Area last week.
According to Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of the Highway Safety Division, drivers residing in York Region and area who were charged July 29 to Aug. 5 on GTA highways and roads patrolled by the OPP are:
- Donna Sweet, 32, Newmarket — impaired driving, fail to remain, fail to report accident, careless driving;
- Fawad Hamidi, 39, Markham — impaired driving, 80 plus;
- Phouthaviengvog Soukhavongsa, 48, Bradford West Gwillimbury — impaired driving, 80 plus.
