28-year-old man dead following collision on Highway 400

Two cars were involved in the collision near Innisfil Beach Road last night

A 28-year-old man is dead following a collision on Highway 400 in Innisfil on Wednesday night. 

According to Ontario Provincial Police's Highway Safety Division, a single vehicle crash occurred in the southbound lane at Innisfil Beach Road on July 15, when the driver hit the guardrail, causing the vehicle to end up facing the wrong way. 

A second vehicle driving southbound then collided with the first vehicle. The driver of the first vehicle, Andrew Therrien, 28, Sagmamok Anishnawbek First Nation, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

Witnesses are being asked to call the OPP Aurora Detachment at 905-841-5777.
