One person was injured in first collision; all lanes have be reopened

Traffic was disrupted at Bayview Avenue and Mulock Drive in Newmarket for two separate collisions, in which one person was injured, that occurred within 20 minutes of each other this afternoon.

The first collision at 1:20 p.m. March 27 occurred between a Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla on Mulock, just east of Bayview, York Regional Police said. York Region Paramedic Services and Central York Fire Services also responded to the scene and one person was taken to hospital, Const. Maniva Armstrong said.

Northbound lanes and one southbound lane were temporarily closed, but have now re-opened.

The second collision at 1:40 p.m. occurred between a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Volkswagen on Bayview in the intersection at Mulock, resulting in the Volkswagen leaving the intersection and crossing the boulevard onto the sidewalk in front of the gas station.

Northbound Bayview lanes were closed, however, all lanes have reopened now, police said.

Armstrong said no one was injured or trapped in the vehicles.
