Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region
  • Pickering - Oshawa - Southern Durham Region
  • Uxbridge - Beaverton - Northern Durham Region
  • Vaughan - Richmond Hill - Markham

Winter weather travel advisory in effect for late this afternoon through tonight.

A swath of snow is expected to move through the region from west to east beginning late this afternoon and continuing overnight.

Total snowfall accumulations of 2 to 5 cm can be expected by the time the snow tapers off overnight. Snowfall rates are expected to be at their highest this evening and may cause impacts to the evening commute.

Accumulating snow on untreated roadways may impact travel and motorists are advised to exercise caution.

Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
