Friday, June 23

3rd Annual Newmarket Craft Beer Festival, June 23 to 24: The Newmarket Craft Beer Festival showcases more than 25 craft breweries from across Ontario including Old Flame Brewery, Red Thread Brewery, Haven Brewery, The George Eatery and Brewery, Red Line Brewhouse and Founders Original, alongside culinary vendors, live music, free massages, games, yoga and zumba classes, Bark Zone and more at Fairy Lake Park, 520 Water St. Opening at 6 p.m. Friday. America Crown Circus presents Runaway With the Circus: The circus comes to town this weekend, at 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Upper Canada Mall featuring international acts from around the continent. This unique circus was designed with a family audience in mind. Children and adults will be captivated as aerial artistry unfolds, motorcycles madness, acrobats defying the law of gravity inches from their seats. Tickets $25 adults, $10 children. 

Board Gaming: Join local board game enthusiasts at Cardinal Press Espresso Bar at 200 Main St. Newmarket from 6 to 10 p.m. The games are provided and teachers are available, or you bring your games to teach others. Note from organizers: We don't tend to play a lot of 'traditional' board games such as Monopoly, Clue, Sorry! Let them know what you would like to play when you RSVP and they will bring those games. 

Busk Till Dusk, Fridays and Saturdays, June 23 to Sept. 2: Every Friday and Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m., street performers will showcase their talent on Main Street Newmarket. Busking brings a variety of performance art forms to the street, offering close-up entertainment for a tip in the hat that goes to support the entertainers themselves, and provides a sense of energy and buzz to the area. 2nd Annual Innifil Onion Fest, June 23 to 25: A weekend of entertainment — including country musician Jason McCoy on Saturday at 9 p.m. — returns with the second annual Innisfil Onion Fest. The event offers live entertainment, a children's zone, midway rides, fireworks, food trucks, a beverage garden, and marketplace at the Innisfil Recreation Complex at Yonge Street and Innisfil Beach Road. Winnie The Pooh Train Festival & Train Ride: The most beloved bear is coming to Uxbridge this weekend. You are invited to come for a ride through the 100-acre Oak Ridges Moraine onboard an historical train, and meet Winnie and friends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy an eye spy on board for some of Pooh’s favourite items. Pawty with Pupchella:  A summer kick off PAWTY that embraces bringing new friends, old friends + our fluffy friends together. If you're "pup-sessed" and want to spend a day surrounded by dogs, Pupchella is for you. All proceeds donated to the local SPCA. The day includes local vendor market, live music, food truck, raffles and games, local craft beer, and photo booth. Begins at noon at Market Brewing Company, 17775 Leslie St., Unit 4, Newmarket.

Tim Hortons Canada Day, Saturday, July 1: Join the Town of Newmarket on Canada Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Riverwalk Commons, 200 Doug Duncan Dr., for a daytime concert and festival where you can enjoy rides on the Tim Hortons Express Train, face painting, food vendors, entertainment, Main Street festivities and more. Stop by George Richardson Park (Bayview Parkway) from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. for music by the Newmarket Citizens Band, a concert featuring Switchbeat and fireworks. newmarket.ca/canadaday

TD Music Series, Thursday, July 6 to Aug. 24: Every Thursday evening enjoy a free tribute band concert at Riverwalk Commons. Each concert will feature amazing local performers and a premier tribute band. On July 6, Blame It All On Their Roots (Garth Brooks, Shania Twain tribute) and The Beresfords.This year’s lineup includes a mix of country, pop, rock and soul. Be sure to bring your own lawn chair and arrive early to secure a spot. Don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle to fill up at the Quench Buggy.
