Guests should have an easier time finding a seat at the table when visiting Bradford’s Brick N Fire.
The restaurant has expanded with a new dining room and lounge area, taking the total seating from 75 to 110 while providing guests with a little more elbow room to the enjoy some casual fine dining.
“We need the extra space; we’re always turning people away. We’re just getting more popular as the years go by,” said Dina Charyk, who co-owns the restaurant with husband and chef Dave Charyk. “I’ve always had a vision of what I wanted it to look like. When the opportunity came up, we just grabbed it.”
Located in the plaza at 300 Holland St. W., the restaurant now includes the neighbouring unit that was a Kumon learning centre.
“We had a lot of tables in the back, and it was a little snug. Now we’ve spread it out,” Dina said, explaining they have been hosting a lot of functions.
To that end, the two halves of the restaurant are separated by a dividing wall, making it easier to host large groups on one side, while still maintaining the dining experience for smaller groups of guests on the other.
“This town has been very supportive and we have a great following, so I’m happy I can expand and just have more space for people to come and eat and enjoy,” Dina said.
Anyone interested in enjoying the culinary excellence of Dave’s fine Italian and French cuisine can visit Brick N Fire Monday to Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with hours extended to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, as well as Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m.
In addition to delicious meals, patrons can also try hand-made cocktails, with drink specials Monday to Thursday, live entertainment on Fridays and prime rib on Saturdays.
“We try to do different things for our guests,” Dina said.
To help make all of that possible, another chef, Julian Eddington, also joined the team, bringing with him a diverse set of skills.
“He’s been amazing and I think we should give him some credit because without him we couldn’t do the expansion,” Dina said. “He’s very creative, he’s artistic.”
Dina and Dave opened Brick N Fire in May 2017, and brought plenty of restaurant experience with them.
The two met on the job almost three decades ago while Dina was working as a server at her father’s Italian restaurant in Aurora, where Dave was hired as a Red Seal chef in 1994.
The couple married in 1997 and never stopped sharing determination for success and passion for fine cuisine.
