Vaughan restaurant charged with public health infraction

One restaurant in York Region was charged for public health violations by York Region inspectors last week.

Daal Roti in Concord, at 51- 52 - 9100 Jane St., was charged Sept. 11 for food premises not being maintained with clean floors in the food-handling room, according to the report for inspections made Sept. 11 to 17 by York Region Community and Health Services, health protection division.  

During the inspection, inspectors flagged the food establishment for failing to provide adequate protection against the entrance of pests. This infraction was corrected during the inspection.

It was also noted by inspectors that the restaurant failed to ensure walls are kept clean/in good repair and failed to ensure floors are kept clean/in good repair.

Food education was carried out on site and a re-inspection will be conducted at a later date.
