Thousands of local seniors are enjoying Christmas concerts headlined by country star Beverley Mahood this week, courtesy of Magna International.
It’s a long-standing tradition — more than 30 years — for Magna to treat about 2,000 York Region seniors to a complimentary concert, refreshments and a Christmas gift.
All that’s asked in return is a donation to the holiday gift drive organized by Neighbourhood Network, the not-for-profit division of Magna International that facilitates volunteerism in Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina and King Township.
Three invitation-only shows are being hosted this week at the Newmarket Theatre.
