York Harmony Chorus, an award-winning a cappella group based in York Region, is inviting talented vocalists to its open audition night Monday, May 13 in Sharon.
Vocalists can have the opportunity to showcase their skills and become part of an esteemed ensemble dedicated to musical excellence at the audition from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sharon-Hope United Church at 18648 Leslie St. in Sharon.
Prospective members will have the chance to perform a one-minute a cappella piece (no musical accompaniment permitted) to demonstrate their pure vocal talent and musicality, a news release said.
"York Harmony Chorus welcomes singers of all experience levels and backgrounds to audition. Whether you're a seasoned performer or new to the stage, this audition night is the perfect opportunity to join a vibrant community of passionate vocalists dedicated to sharing and promoting the art of a cappella, barbershop harmony," the release stated.
"We are excited to open our doors to aspiring singers and offer them the chance to be part of our chorus," said Martha DeClerq, master director of York Harmony Chorus. "Our chorus is known for its camaraderie, musical excellence, and dedication to artistic growth. We can't wait to hear the incredible talent that walks through our doors on audition night."
Audition slots are limited, so interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP and reserve their spot in advance by contacting the membership co-ordinator at [email protected]. Walk-ins will also be welcome on a first-come, first-served basis.
