Southlake Regional Health Centre wants your input as it searches for its next president and CEO.

The Newmarket hospital's search committee has released a public survey on its website that asks questions like what areas Southlake should focus on, what qualities the new president should possess and how you would generate interest in Southlake to prospective candidates.

Southlake board of directors chair Marilee Harris said health care is changing in Ontario, and needs have never been greater.

“Resources are scarce,” she said. “Southlake must be equipped with top talent to lean into the challenges that hospitals across the province are facing.”

Southlake announced last month that current president and CEO Arden Krystal would retire in early 2024 and has begun searching for her replacement. Krystal has served in the position since 2017.

“On behalf of the board, we would like to share our sincere thanks and appreciation to Arden for her stellar leadership,” Harris and board past chair Patrick Horgan said in a news release at the time.

The next CEO will be tasked with continuing plans to develop a new Southlake hospital site, to add to the existing site on Davis Drive.

“We invite the community to share their thoughts on the future of health care and how the next CEO should support their needs,” Harris said.

Southlake will keep the survey responses confidential, but it does offer participants the chance to receive updates on the results.

You can participate in the survey at southlake.ca/CEOsearch.
