Snow squall warning in effect for:

  • Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region
  • Uxbridge - Beaverton - Northern Durham Region

Snow squalls today into this evening.

Snow squalls are expected to continue today. Furthermore, strong northwest winds gusting to 50 km/h will result in blowing snow.

Additional local snowfall amounts near 15 cm are possible by late this evening when the squalls are expected to shift out of the region and gradually weaken.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

  • Vaughan - Richmond Hill - Markham

Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect for today into this evening.

Brief periods of heavy snow are possible this morning, including during the morning commute, as a cold front sweeps through the area.

This afternoon and evening there is the risk of snow squalls extending into the area from Georgian Bay.

Total snowfall amounts of 5 cm are possible by this evening over a few locales.

Travel could be hazardous at times due to reduced visibilities in heavy snow and blowing snow.
