The Newmarket Chamber of Commerce home show is returning this weekend, giving residents the opportunity to shop local and take part in some exciting activities.
The Love Local Home Show is on at the Ray Twinney Recreation Centre this weekend on May 14 and 15. The show includes an exhibition of local vendors, including Kempenfelt Windows and Doors, Fouka Furniture, Homestead Oxygen + Medical Equipment, Newmarket Garage Doors and more. A full list of exhibitors is available online.
On Saturday, an outdoor festival takes place in the parking lot, featuring more vendors like Fraktals Chocolates, Olive Oil & Co., and Newmarket Group of Artists. Local organizations, including Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association (NACCA), Inn From the Cold, and Canadian Mental Health Association - York & South Simcoe, will also be present.
The home show will also feature tasty treats like an ice cream truck and hamburgers, hot dogs, and peameal on a bun from the North Newmarket Lions Club.
There will be interactive activities for all to enjoy. From noon to 3 p.m., there will be balloon twisting by Minerva Creations and, on Saturday, Code Ninjas and Hive5 will have activities for the kids. You can also snap a pic with the giant Love Local sign, courtesy of Epstein & Associates.
Daily prizes will be up for grabs and visitors can also enter to win gift cards for Upper Canada Mall.
Admission to the home show is free. It runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
