No train service this weekend on Barrie line, including Newmarket

There will be no GO Train service this weekend on the Barrie line, which includes Newmarket, this weekend. 

Upgrade work will be ongoing between Newmarket GO station and Downsview Park GO. This includes upgrading railway crossings, removing and installing culverts, removing vegetation and performing track maintenance. 

There will be no trains running while this work is underway. 

Replacement buses will be running between Union Station Bus Terminal, Rutherford, Maple, King City, Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury GO stations. There are also some trips running express to Aurora. Customers wanting to go further north can transfer at Aurora or East Gwillimbury. 

This will be in place from the start of service on Saturday, Dec. 17 until the end of service on Sunday, Dec. 18. Regular train service will resume on Monday, Dec. 19. 

Riders are reminded to check the schedule and service updates online before travelling and to give themselves extra time.
