Newmarket's young philanthropists raise $1,000 for homeless shelter

The sisters have donated thousands of dollars to Inn From the Cold throughout 2021

Manha and Laiba Yusuf have closed out a year of fundraising by donating more than $1,000 to Inn From the Cold in their holiday campaign

For the latest fundraiser, the young Newmarket sisters sold poinsettias and platters of fresh fruits and veggies.

They raised $1,005 dollars, which they delivered to the Newmarket homeless shelter this week, along with donations of fresh fruit, veggies, and dry nuts.

This is a cause the pair often support through various fundraisers throughout the year.

Thanks to similar sales held at Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Father's Day, they have donated thousands of dollars to Inn From the Cold this year alone.

They also donated backpacks to the shelter and to other organizations in town as part of a back to school drive, which was held over the summer.

Manha and Laiba will now be enjoying their holiday break, while also preparing for their next campaign, which involves selling flowers at Valentine's Day.

You can follow along their fundraising journey on the pair's Facebook page.
