New donors are at the top of Santa’s wish list for Canadian Blood Services and, during December, you are encouraged to give the best gift you can this holiday season: the gift of blood.
Canadian Blood Services local territory manager Malvika Arun said competition is fierce this time of year as charities compete for people’s time and attention.
“The holidays are a time for celebrating with friends and family, to cherish those special moments and count our blessings,” Arun said. “I’m thankful for our donors for being a vital connection in Canada’s lifeline. And I’m thankful for friends in the community for encouraging others to join in building a stronger and healthier Canada.”
The need for blood is constant, even during the holiday season. Cancer treatments, trauma surgeries, and organ transplants all routinely take place between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
You are invited to join Canada’s lifeline this holiday season and encourage your family and friends to donate with you.
