Little Red Bake Shop marks 2 years of cookie nirvana at grand opening

Newmarket gourmet cookie shop marked its official opening Oct. 1 with a ribbon cutting and return of some of its most popular cookie flavours

The Little Red Bake Shop —  named for its owner's red hair — marked its official grand opening Oct. 1 with a ribbon cutting and return of some of its most popular cookie flavours.

The Newmarket gourmet bake shop at 200 Mulock Dr. sells nothing but cookies and, at a third of a pound each, the cookies are big and come in one-of-a-kind flavours like lemon cheesecake or Coffee Crisp caffeine kick that are "retired" and replaced with new flavours every three months.

Baker and shop owner Michelle Bullen delayed her official opening due to the pandemic.

The only permanent staple is chocolate chip cookies, and Bullen said she hasn't repeated a single flavour and doubts she ever will.

However, for the grand opening celebration, eight of her customers' most favourite flavours over the last two year were returned, including spiced apple and oats, pumpkin whoopie pie, and maple dark chocolate.
