NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF BRADFORD WEST GWILLIMBURY
*************************
After two years of virtual and modified versions, Carrot Fest returns to the streets of downtown Bradford on Aug. 19 and 20.

Carrot Fest started more than 20 years ago and has been named a Top 100 Festival and Event in Ontario for over a decade. The event celebrates the importance of the Holland Marsh soils, with a focus on the importance of carrots in our local economy.

Visit and enjoy a large vendor market, music and entertainment including our kids and youth zone, and grab a complimentary bag of locally grown carrots, courtesy of the Holland Marsh Growers’ Association.

“We are excited to have Carrot Fest return to its normal capacity,” says Bethany Kuboniwa, leisure events and marketing supervisor. “We look forward to seeing BWG supporting the local vendors and enjoying free music and entertainment while celebrating the town’s roots.”

What’s new for 2022? We are proud to feature two stages at this year’s event — the Curtis Goddard Team Stage (Barrie Street) and the TD Stage (courthouse parking lot). Both stages will feature a variety of local talent including Little Peter and the Elegants, The Orangemen, The Hip Experience, Sonshine and Broccoli, The Imbayakunas Music Group, Elite Dance Corps, Generation Gap, a Blue Rodeo cover band, and more. Check out your favourite busker and street performers including Fire Guy, Hercinia Arts Aerial Show, The Circus Drummer, Lukasz Stark Magic and Nemsis Hip Hop Fusion at the busker pitch or on stage.

The Kids Zone will be located on Simcoe Road and will include inflatables and games free for children to enjoy. On Saturday, continue walking down Simcoe Road to the Bradford and District Memorial Community Centre where you will find BMX stunt shows, Aqua Dogs, the Youth Zone and wrestling.

The festival will be located along Holland Street, Barrie Street, Simcoe Road, and at the Bradford and District Memorial Community Centre. Parking is limited. BWG Transit will be offering free bus service during the event.

This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors: the Government of Ontario, TD Bank, the Curtis Goddard Team, Tim Hortons, Halibut House Bradford, York Energy Centre, Verve Senior Living, Tupling Insurance, Great Gulf, DG Group, Magna International, Pearson and Pearson Surveying Ltd., Crozier Consulting Engineers, and more.
