Monday, Aug. 2 is a civic holiday in Ontario. Enjoy your long weekend!

What’s Open:

Major malls and shopping centres are open, including Upper Canada Mall (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Promenade Shopping Mall (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), Vaughan Mills (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Tanger Outlet (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.), CF Markville Mall (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Hillcrest Mall (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.). 

The Walmart Supercentre on Yonge Street is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and the Walmart on Davis Drive is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

The Shoppers Drug Mart at 16639 Yonge St. is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., the store at 20 Davis Dr. is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and other locations are open with regular hours. 

The Gorman outdoor pool is open from 10 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.

What’s closed:

Most major grocery stores are closed, but some may be open on reduced hours.

Municipal recreation and fitness centres, including the Magna Centre, are closed.

Newmarket Public Library is closed.

Most LCBO and the Beer Store outlets are closed. You can check for select openings at The Beer Store website.

Businesses and government offices are closed.

Banks and post offices are closed. Canada Post will not collect and deliver mail.

Tourist sites are open in Toronto (check websites for times), including: 

Hockey Hall of Fame 

Ripley's Aquarium of Canada 

Toronto Zoo 

Some attractions require visitors to purchase tickets in advance.
