The new Shining Hill community is on its way to Newmarket and residents can have another chance to provide input on what it might look like.

The Town of Newmarket is inviting the public to the third public information centre April 2 for the Shining Hill secondary plan. The project team will review feedback from previous public information centres and the recommended solutions they have to offer.

“We encourage you to attend this PIC to learn more and provide your thoughts on how Shining Hill Secondary Plan should be developed,” the town said.

Newmarket approved the development in the southwest portion of town in 2022, getting concessions in return, including 80 acres of land, a new tennis facility and high environmental building standards. Since then, the municipality and Shining Hill Estate Collection Inc. has held a couple of information sessions with the public to go over ideas for the new residential development to come.

The secondary plan process involves background studies and analysis, public consultation and identification of a community vision “to establish a detailed planning framework for land use, infrastructure and development,” according to the municipality.

The event will occur at the municipal office at 395 Mulock Dr. from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 2. If you are unable to attend, the town said the presentation and display boards will be recorded and posted to the Shining Hill website.
