You may want to plan an alternate route around Eagle Street at Yonge Street this weekend as construction crews completely close Eagle on the east side of Yonge until 7 a.m. Monday. This is the final temporary side street closure as workers ready the roads for the future Viva rapidway. The closure is in effect 24 hours a day.
Detour signs will be in place for motorists and pedestrians, and access to businesses and properties will be maintained.
Bus stops and sidewalks remain open.
Expect construction-related noise and dust in the area.
Road reconstruction, storm sewer installation, paving and line painting has been ongoing to support the new public transit system.
