Re: Striking education workers protest at MPP office in Newmarket, Nov. 4, 2022

This is a copy of a letter sent to Newmarket-Aurora MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy.

As a staunch conservative, our current government has lost its way. I will be taking away my vote from the Progressive Conservatives and voting for another party regardless of how this ends up. Certainly, the next election and potentially more in the future.

It was not an easy task to keep kids in school, and considering they aren’t, this is a failure of the government. There is no one to blame but those accountable for the responsibility.

The use of the notwithstanding clause was heavy-handed. Governing is not an easy task, and obviously, this legislature and government are not up to the task and clearly demonstrate a high degree of incompetence.

I am full of shame today simply because I voted for you, and that is easily seen as the wrong decision.

I was lied to by the party, and that is not easy to get over.

Shame. Embarrassed to live in Ontario today.

I look to the government to protect our rights, not suppress them.
