Re: 'Unprecedented:' York Region legion shut down due to biker gang connection, Feb. 23, 2024.
According to a letter from provincial command to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 414, the branch charter has been suspended following an investigation that found some members were breaching policy by wearing “gang colours” affiliated with biker gangs.
The letter urged members of the Woodbridge branch to retain membership and transfer to new branches.
How stupid is this? Other branches don’t want biker members. Why would the Legion think those members would be welcome in other branches? Sure fire way to close all legions.
