NewmarketToday, in partnership with the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre, brings you Adopt Me, a regular feature highlighting special pets in need of adoption.

Luney is waiting patiently for a loving home.

Luney is an affectionate 10-year-old black cat with mesmerizing green eyes. This sweet girl loves companionship and will flop over for belly rubs as soon as she knows she has your attention.

“Luney is the sweetest cat in the adoption centre,” says Michelle, a volunteer who has spent time with Luney every week since the cat came into the care of the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society last August.

Thanks to the loving attention from volunteers who help deliver enrichment programs to animals awaiting adoption, Luney is well socialized and ready to find her forever home.

Luney’s human friends discovered she loves her catnip toys and patiently waiting for pats on the highest perch of her cat tree.

Luney would make a great office assistant — although her sweetness is distracting. She would love to be an office pet at a veterinary clinic or in a home with someone who is willing to manage her diabetic needs.

The best part is that Luney’s adoption fee won’t even cost you a loonie. A generous individual “paid it forward” by covering her adoption fee in the hopes it would help Luney find a home.

Luney is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. For more information on Luney, please call 905-898-7122 ext. 306 or visit the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre 16586 Woodbine Ave. in Stouffville.
