The event got a lot of appreciation from all corners.

“Really excited to be here at the first Run For Newmarket put on by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the Ahmadiyya Youth Committee. What an incredible first event! I go to a lot of events and this is phenomenal. The turnout, the organization, just runs so smoothly and beautifully and to see whole community come out to support their efforts and to support Blue Door Shelter and the Newmarket Food Pantry. These are organizations that need our community support and the Ahmadiyya Community has stepped up to do that. And really by partnering with the Town and with the Central York Fire Services, York Regional Police, and many sponsors, it has made such a special day. I just want to say thank you! So excited to be part of this first event. Can’t imagine what this is going to grow into because it is already such a big success. So again, thank you on behalf of the Town of Newmarket and look forward to supporting this run and walk every year.” said Mayor John Taylor while speaking to the media team at the event.

“While government plays a big part in preventing and ending homelessness, so does the community. We were overwhelmed and grateful for the support of the community in the first Run for Newmarket supporting Blue Door, and even more so for the amazing organizers who put this fantastic event together.” Michael Braithwaite, CEO, Blue Door

“Thank you to the incredible Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association for hosting the first ever Run for Newmarket in support of Blue Door and to all the community members who walked or ran in the event. The continued support of our community allows Blue Door’s programs and supports to grow to meet the needs of our Region’s most vulnerable.” Rebecca Turner, Resource Development Coordinator, Blue Door

“Thank you to the entire team at Run For Newmarket for hosting such a fantastic event. We are fortunate to have Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Community in our corner helping us in the fight to end hunger. We appreciate and thank you for your continued support.” Newmarket Food Pantry posted on Instagram.

Lastly, the team is grateful for the community that donated towards the cause and came out that day to show their support. Together we can build stronger communities.
