York police seek 4 suspects in armed mobile phone shop robbery

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking witnesses following a robbery at a mobile phone store in the City of Vaughan.

On Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, shortly before 11 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a mobile phone store in the area of Woodstream Boulevard and Highway 7 for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they located a store employee who was not physically injured.

Investigators believe that four men, one armed with a handgun, entered the store and demanded mobile phones. The employee complied and the suspects fled in a dark-coloured sport utility vehicle.

Investigators from the Hold-Up Unit are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time with a dashcam to please come forward.

Business owners are reminded of the importance of maintaining and updating video surveillance equipment. Quality images help to identify suspects, can aid in arrests and have a tremendous impact during court proceedings.
