UPDATE: Woman rescued from Georgina house fire later dies in hospital

The investigation into the fatal fire last night at Parkway and Lake is ongoing

UPDATE: The fatal fire at a house in Georgina is not considered suspicious, according to York Regional Police.

The victim was a 62-year-old woman from Georgina. Two women and a man were able to escape the home without injury. 

Crews fully extinguished the fire. 

York Regional Police said it continues to investigate the fire with the Office of the Fire Marshal.

A woman is dead after a house fire in Georgina late last night. 

York Regional Police, Georgina Fire and Rescue and York Region Paramedic Services were on the scene in the area of Parkway Avenue and Lake Drive at 11:39 p.m. on March 30. 

At 12:48 a.m. today, police said the fire was extinguished but a female occupant of the house was taken to hospital in serious condition and at 1:21 a.m. they said she was pronounced deceased.

Police remain on the scene investigating the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
