VIDEO: Suspect sought in Markham fail-to-remain rollover collision

Investigators with the #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking a suspect vehicle following a fail-to-remain collision in the City of Markham.

On Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020, shortly after noon, officers were called to the area of Markham Road and 14th Avenue for a report that a vehicle had rolled over. When officers arrived, they found a 2015 blue Jeep Cherokee that had rolled over. The driver of the vehicle, a 58-year-old man from the City of Markham, was suffering from minor injuries.

Investigators learned that a four-door grey car had made a left turn onto Markham Road and struck the Jeep, causing it to roll over. The driver of the grey vehicle stopped, then drove away from the scene.

Investigators are releasing surveillance video of the collision and an image of the suspect vehicle and seeking public assistance to identify the suspect vehicle and the driver.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have been driving in the area with dashcam to please come forward. They are also appealing to the driver who fled the scene is urged to obtain legal counsel and to contact police immediately.
