Victim struck in head during armed home invasion in Markham

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking suspects following a home invasion robbery in the City of Markham.

On Monday, May 25, 2021, at approximately 6:30 p.m., police responded to a residence on Harbord Street, which is in the area of Kennedy Road and Bur Oak Avenue, for report of a home invasion robbery.

Officers learned that two male suspects, armed with firearms, forced entry into the residence and held the occupants at gunpoint. One of the occupants was struck in the head with a firearm. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects fled from the scene in a vehicle.

The suspects were both described as male, Black, wearing masks. One was armed with a handgun and the other had a rifle.

The investigation is ongoing.
