York Regional Police is seeking witnesses following a shooting that occurred in the City of Richmond Hill.
On Friday, September 6, 2019, shortly after 10:30 p.m., York Regional Police received a report of a shooting that had occurred in a plaza located at 9019 Bayview Ave., which is north of Highway 7. When officers arrived, they located a 27-year-old male victim in front of a restaurant, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition where he remains.
Investigators believe that a male dressed in all black with a hoodie covering his face approached the victim outside of the restaurant and shot him. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. The shooting appears to be targeted.
Investigators are seeking any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the shooting who have not yet spoken with investigators, to please come forward.
