Victim in targeted Vaughan shooting identified, 2 suspects sought

York Regional Police are seeking two suspects who wore dark clothing at the time of the shooting, along with a suspect vehicle that police describe as a dark-coloured, mid-size SUV.

York Regional Police has identified the man who died in a shooting in an industrial plaza on Creditstone Road in Vaughan as a 23-year-old Brampton man.

The deceased victim is Jayden Pitter, 23, of Brampton, while another victim remains in hospital recovering from gunshot wounds, police said.

The two men were found with gunshot wounds on May 24 at 3:50 a.m. One of them was pronounced deceased on the scene, and the other was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. He is in stable condition, according to police.

Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting. 

Police believe several people were in the area at the time of the shooting. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to investigators are urged to come forward, along with anyone who has video footage or dashcam recordings from the area around the time of the incident.
