Uxbridge man arrested in spree of commercial break-ins in York Region

Investigators connected the man with 29 break and enters in Markham, Richmond Hill and Peel Region

York Regional Police have charged a 29-year-old man in connection with 29 commercial break and enters.

Officers with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau began investigating a series of 10 similar commercial break and enters that occurred in the City of Markham between September 2019 and March 2020. Officers determined that the incidents were committed by the same suspect.

In the early morning on May 5, 2020, officers responded to reports of five separate break-and-enter incidents in the City of Richmond Hill.

Following the incidents, a suspect was arrested. A search warrant was executed at his residence and evidence was obtained linking the suspect to a total of 21 break and enters in York Region, as well as eight incidents in Peel Region.

Charged:  

  • Camren Phon, 29, of Uxbridge

Charges Include:  

  • Break and Enter x29  
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Breach of Probation x3
