Two people are facing charges after police thwarted an attempted break-in Friday at a home in King Township.

Police responded shortly before 2 a.m. to a residence on Hollywood Crescent, in the area of Highway 27 and King Road, for a report of suspects attempting to break into a house.

Before police arrived, suspects were seen breaking into a vehicle at a nearby home. The suspects fled on foot when police showed up. After a brief foot pursuit, one suspect was arrested. A second suspect was arrested nearby. Police are still searching for the third suspect.

Police determined the vehicle the suspects arrived in had been stolen in Toronto in January.

Tibor Orgona, 21, of Toronto has been charged with loitering/prowling at night on another person’s property, theft from a motor vehicle under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and breach of probation.

Dzifa Amah, 18, of no fixed address, has been charged with loitering/prowling at night on another person’s property, theft under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Police say Orgona was bound by a release order for unrelated offences at the time of his arrest.
