Toronto woman, 27, killed in Vaughan collision

Two drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the collision yesterday afternoon

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the City of Vaughan.

On Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020, shortly after noon, York Regional Police were called to the intersection of Dufferin Street and Langstaff Road for a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a beige Ford Focus and a red Honda CRV. When officers arrived, they assisted York Paramedics in rendering medical assistance to both drivers who were injured, as well as a passenger who was trapped in one of the vehicles.

Both drivers, a 26-year-old female from the Town of New Tecumseth and a 66-year-old female from the City of Vaughan, were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger in one of the vehicles, a 27-year-old female from the City of Toronto, sadly was pronounced at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to please come forward.
