Suspect wanted for theft at Newmarket mall, assault of officer

She exited the Hudson's Bay at Upper Canada Mall with a duffel bag full of merchandise, Crime Stoppers of York Region says

A suspect who stole from a store at Upper Canada Mall and then assaulted a loss prevention officer who tried to apprehend her is being sought by police. 

A woman was seen on video surveillance leaving the Hudson's Bay store in Newmarket with a large duffel bag full of merchandise she didn't pay for on Nov. 25 at about 2 p.m., according to Crime Stoppers of York Region's crime of the week. 

A loss prevention officer attempted to arrest the suspect in the parking lot but she resisted and assaulted the officer, police said. 

The suspect is described as a white female, aged 20 to 30, 5 feet 1 inch tall and 150 to 160 pounds with straight blonde hair. She was wearing black-rimmed glasses.
