Shots fired at Vaughan house rented for party

Investigators with the #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses after shots were fired in a residential neighbourhood in Vaughan.

On Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, shortly before 2 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence on Cannes Avenue for a report of sound of gunshots. When officers arrived they located a vehicle with bullet holes in it and a residence being used as a short-term rental that had been rented out for a party. There was no one physically injured.

The investigation has revealed that at approximately 1:30 a.m., there were multiple people shooting guns with at least ten shots fired. The suspects fled the area in a vehicle.

Citizens can expect to see a police presence in the area for the ongoing investigation.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time that may have dashcam footage to please come forward.
