Richmond Hill man charged in St. Catharines drug trafficking case

More than $44,000 in suspected drugs were seized during a search warrant in May

A 33-year-old Richmond Hill man has been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in St. Catharines.

Niagara Regional Police Service began an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs in St. Catharines last June, after executing a search warrant May 10 on Ontario Street near Beech Street, according to a news release.

Three suspects have been arrested and, in total, 210 grams of suspected fentanyl and 26 grams of suspected cocaine was seized, police said. The combined estimated total of the seized drugs is $44,600. In addition, detectives also recovered $2,987 believed to have been acquired through the proceeds of crime, police added.

Marcus Makhurane-Chafudzika, 33, of Richmond Hill has been arrested and charged with: possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking; possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; and possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000.

Peter Langridge, 38, of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with: possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking; and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Lee Alan Walters, 48, of St. Catharines has been arrested and charged with: possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking; and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
