Richmond Hill currency store robbed at gunpoint

Police say the three male suspects assaulted a victim before fleeing with merchandise

A currency exchange business employee was assaulted during a gunpoint robbery in Richmond Hill Friday morning.

Three men, armed with at least one firearm, demanded cash after entering the business near Yonge Street and Major Mackenzie Drive March 15 at about 11 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victim before fleeing with merchandise in a blue-coloured sedan, according to a York Regional Police news release.

The victim was transported to hospital, where he was treated and released.

The suspects are described as male, Black, approximately 30 years old, average build, between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet in height, all wearing hooded sweaters, dark-coloured pants and face masks.
