Recovered merchandise stolen from Markham store valued at $215K (5 photos)

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have arrested and charged three people in connection with theft of merchandise worth more than $215,000, in the City of Markham.

On Thursday, March 3, 2022, York Regional Police were called to a store located in the area of Highway 7 and Kennedy Road for the theft of $2,500 worth of perfume.

Through the investigation, officers were able to identify three suspects. On Friday, March 4, 2022, a search warrant was executed on a residence in Brampton.

A large number of stolen items were recovered, including perfume, clothing and fashion accessories, worth approximately $215,000, as well as a large amount of cash. The suspects were arrested and charges include Theft and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Fail to Comply With Court Order

Charged: Alijione Martin, 31, of Brampton
Charges:
Theft Under $5,000 x2
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

Charged: Catherine Wilson, 58, of Toronto
Charges:
Possession of Property Obtained

Investigators believe the stolen merchandise is linked to several other commercial store thefts in the Greater Toronto Area.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police are seeking information from witnesses and encourage any other victims to come forward.
