Police seek witnesses to fatal Vaughan parking lot collision

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the city of Vaughan.

On Saturday, June 18, 2022, at approximately 10:55 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a parking lot on Woodstream Boulevard, for a report of a vehicle and pedestrian collision.

When officers arrived, they learned that the victim, an 83-year-old female from Vaughan, had been struck by a red Fiat reversing in the parking lot. The victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The 63-year-old female driver of the Fiat was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, to please come forward.

The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been laid at this time.
