Police seek witnesses to fatal collision in Vaughan

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at approximately 7 a.m., police responded to a three-vehicle collision in the area of Islington Avenue and Sonoma Boulevard. Investigators determined that a silver Honda Civic was going north on Islington Avenue when it collided first with a black Rav 4 going south, then a blue Honda Civic, which was also going south.

The driver of the silver Honda, a 70-year-old woman from the City of Vaughan, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The drivers of the Rav 4 and the blue Honda suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to please come forward.
