Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are seeking witnesses after a fatal shooting in the City of Vaughan.
On Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at approximately 8:05 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a commercial plaza in the area of Highway 27 and Langstaff Road for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene they located one victim with gunshot wounds.
A male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to police arriving.
Investigators believe this incident was targeted and there is no threat to public safety.
The investigation is ongoing and officers are appealing to any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward.
Investigators are also seeking video surveillance from the area or anyone that may have captured dashcam video on the roadways.
