Police seek help after visitor goes missing in Markham (update: found safe)

Haitai Fang was safely located on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

York Regional Police are seeking public assistance in locating a missing 24-year-old man from China who is visiting in Markham. 

Haitai Fang was staying at a residence in the Thornhill area, on Jewell Street near Steeles Avenue and Henderson Avenue, police said in a news release.

He left on foot at around 5:45 a.m. on May 3.

According to police, he left all his personal belongings behind and has not returned to the residence. 

Police have not been able to locate him and investigators are concerned for his well-being.
