Police confirm identity of victim of 'targeted' Richmond Hill shooting

Last week , a 21-year-old was killed in what York Regional Police believe was a targeted shooting in Richmond Hill.

Police have confirmed the identity of the victim as Alexander Bobby LaPage, of Toronto.

LaPage was shot on Friday, Nov. 17 about 11:20 p.m. in a parking lot near a restaurant plaza on York Boulevard at East Beaver Creek Road, police said.

Police said the area of the incident has many restaurants and nightclubs and is well-travelled by pedestrians and vehicular traffic. There were many people in the plaza at the time of the shooting, according to police.

The homicide unit is currently investigating the incident and there is no suspect information at this time.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to investigators are urged to come forward as soon as possible, along with anyone who has video footage, including dashcam, cell phone, or security recordings from the area around the time of the incident.
