Police believe Saturday night shooting in Markham was targeted

Police are seeking witnesses after a man was injured outside a Lee Avenue home

A man was shot outside a Markham home Saturday night in what police believe was a targeted incident.

York Regional Police officers responded to a report of a shooting June 8  at about 10:30 p.m. on Lee Avenue in the area of Kennedy Road and 14th Avenue. Officers administered first aid until paramedics arrived and transported him to a trauma centre, where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries, police said in a news release.

A white sedan was seen leaving the area after the shooting.

There were numerous people in the house at the time, police said. They are asking anyone with video recordings, such as dashcam or surveillance footage, in the area around the time of the incident to contact police as soon as possible.
