Photos released of suspects in Newmarket convenience store robbery

York Regional Police believe two men with handguns entered the store and demanded cash Tuesday at midnight

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are releasing suspect images and seeking any information that may lead to their identity following a convenience store robbery in the Town of Newmarket.

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 shortly after midnight, York Regional Police were called to a convenience store located in the area of Davis Drive and Leslie Street for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they found an employee who was not physically injured.

Investigators believe that two men, both armed with handguns, entered the store and made a demand for cash. The employee complied and the suspects fled on foot.

Suspect #1:
    •    Male
    •    5’6”, medium build
    •    Wearing a black puffy jacket, blue bandanna, with black and white shoes
    •    Armed with a handgun

Suspect #2:
    •    Male
    •    5’9”, medium build
    •    Wearing all black clothing, red bandanna with black boots
    •    Armed with a handgun

Investigators from the Hold-Up Unit remind business owners of the importance of maintaining and updating video surveillance equipment. Quality images help to identify suspects, can aid in arrests and have a tremendous impact during court proceedings.
